Naked Table Project
“We give where we live.” Our business thrives because of our community, and in kind, the well-being of our community is enhanced by individuals and business who volunteer, support, fundraise and give back. Thus, two critical values of our business are: 1. Giving funds, time, and dental supplies and education to local non-profit organizations, and 2. Supporting other local businesses, and craftspeople by using their services and products.
Naked Table Project
As an office, we chose to build a naked table and naked benches for our staff lunch room because we recognize the relationships between our local environment, the quality of life present in our community and the opportunities we have to partner with our family of patients while doing work we love. The Naked Table project is part of Shackleton Thomas in Bridgewater, VT another local business supporting local jobs and the environment, and located just 5 miles from our offices. We eat at our table every day at lunch-time.
From The Naked Table Project website: “The Naked Table Project builds tables with and for friends and families in communities across New England, made of Vermont’s iconic Sugar Maple which has been responsibly managed and locally harvested. Using Vermont Natural Coating’s whey-based finish in our workshops, the table is completely non-toxic with the most minimal environmental impact. Since the start of the project in 2008, the table has come to symbolize our community’s connection to our local environment and our ability to make something of it.”
